cold

frigid blood courses to and from a frozen heart
numbing pain only makes it wait a while
running can't conceal you from what is inevitable
so, come, don't slip on ice, fruitlessly trying to flee
face the sharp and biting wind

~

The snow has mostly melted, but it is still very cold! I can't wait for warmer weather.
This poem was partially inspired by The Snow Queen-no not Elsa-the Hans Christian Andersen story. ;) This is a really cool story(no pun intended), and I love that it's divided into parts. Definitely check it out for a great Winter read!
