Tea and a Read~October 2016

'Lo,

I AM SO PUMPED FOR HALLOWEEN
(just had to get that out there.)

Drinking: Teavanna Pumpkin Spice Brûlée tea. This tea is delicious, as are all Teavanna teas. It's an Oolong tea, and it has spicy pumpkin notes that just scream Fall.

Reading: Ah! I finally get to share the mystery book I talked about in last month's Tea and a Read!
When I was at Barnes and Noble (a dangerous place to go, if you are me), I found this spectacular collection of Poe's compete works for $10! It's hardcover, and the cover is amazing.

(In all its glory.)

Let's chat! Do you have a favorite Poe story? Are you into spicy, pumpkin-y drinks?

  1. Ooh I love Poe stories, they're morbid in their own little way, we read a lot of them in English last year. My favorite is probably Lenore, for how mysterious and sad it is. PUMPKIN IS MY LIFE AND I LOVE PUMPKIN DRINKS. I can be cliche and go for a pumpkin spice latte or there is this pumpkin-cinnamon herbal tea that I enjoy from to time to time.

  2. Ah, I adore the Raven! Where I live, you have to read it for school as a freshman, but I did a report on it in 6th grade. xD It's really a great poem, and Poe is a spectacular poet.
PUMPKIN! Bring on the fall flavors! I got some really yummy pumpkin muffins from the local bakery yesterday. DELECIOUS! Ah, while I do not appreciate the cold weather of fall, the food is THE BOMB! When the Starbucks pumpkin spice drinks came out, I went straight up to my mom and said, "Mom, we're going to Starbucks." To which she replied, "Why?" And I exclaimed, "Because if we don't, I'll die!" Pumpkin spice is extremely nessescary in order to survive the 60° weather. (Which no, is not that cold, but it's practically freezing for a Texan like me!) I love your "Tea and a Read" posts, Kathryn!

  3. Oh! And are you going to dress up for Halloween? I am going as Emma from Mrs.Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children! (Which, if you like creepy movies, you NEED to see! The book is amazing too, but very different.)

    1. I'm probably not gonna go trick or treating, but I plan on giving out candy in my Jack Skellington pajamas and/or other creepy accessories. My friend and I are going as Luna and Hermione to school. :)
I'm reading that book right now! I'd like to see the movie-I love Tim Burton's work.
